When it comes to hair, change is good! A change of style simply makes me look and feel like a different woman. The funny thing is that sometimes people actually think I am a different woman!
Like the day my boyfriend and I dropped our son off at day care and they thought he brought ‘some girl’ with him. And yep! Even in the workplace some colleagues introduced themselves to me twice! I guess being a curly girl with temporary straight hair can have that effect on people. But I must say, that I love to surprise people from time to time. ;-)
On to the deets of this hair! On the web several ladies were raving about this ‘kinky straight’ hair. It supposedly matched blown out natural hair. Being a naturalista, this sparked my curiosity. So I ordered three bundles (16 inch) of this kinky straight hair, sat down and made a U-part wig. I chose to create this unit, because ‘putting it on’ is less time consuming than a traditional weave and you only have to cut the hair once. So I colored, snipped and styled this unit and I was good to go! The look you see here is the hair in a lightly blown out state.
Ladies, you know I love my curls and kinks, but let me tell you: this hair is A-MA-ZING!!! After coloring it black, it matched my natural hair perfectly! What I love is that this hair has minimal shedding and it is tangle free. Yes! Tangle free.
So you can probably imagine that I’ve been enjoying this unit to the fullest. Throwing it on whenever I feel like having that flowy, blown out, ULTRA THICK natural hair kind of look. And the good thing is that I only have to GENTLY blow out my leave out to match the kinky straight unit. Of course I use a heat protectant when doing so. The rest of my hair is tucked away and heat free! One little thing though, This hair does not hold a curl for that long. But, hey, if that is all? ;-)
In conclusion, if you are natural and in for a change of hair scenery, this is a great alternative. Have fun in your hair journey…I know I am! ;-)
